Catalog description

This course examines current therapeutics for neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, and psychiatric disorders. Part 1 provides a mechanism-based overview of major neurotherapeutic approaches, including small molecules, antibodies, gene therapies, and neuromodulation, with an emphasis on synapses and circuits. Part 2 uses case-based modules to explore Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, mood disorders, and rare neurogenetic disorders with an emphasis on therapeutics. Prerequisites NEUR1020 and NEUR1030. Suggested BIOL0470 or NEUR1040.
