Catalog description

As AI content proliferates, the first person merits greater consideration. The personal essay is a mode of writing familiar to many of us, but how does one use the first person in a researched essay or a reported story? When does it add to writing and when does it detract from it? The first person can be used to bear witness or take us on a quest or build an argument. Other times, it’s navel-gazing and gratuitous. Sometimes it's the smoke that obscures a lack of substance. At every turn, we will interrogate whether the first-person is constructive with the goal of crafting engrossing, well-structured narratives with irreplicable perspectives.
