Catalog description

This course is a wide-ranging readings course in the field of Atlantic World History. Readings will consider the full range of empires and peoples of the wider Atlantic basin, including Africans, Native Americans, and Europeans, in the period spanning the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries. Special attention will be given to wider oceanic and global trends in the field, including its relationship to historiographies on Colonial Latin America, the African Diaspora, and Early America. All graduate students welcome.
