Southeast Asian Food History

Catalog description

This new course aims to introduce students to Southeast Asian history through the lens of food. Spanning the region, it will examine the economic, cultural, medicinal, and social life of food while considering, too, how food--as method and archive--opens new horizons for the study of Southeast Asian history.
