Catalog description

This advanced Spanish course is designed for students who wish to hone their spoken and written Spanish language. Organized in thematic blocks, students will review complex Spanish grammar and syntax, learn how to structure and compose diverse types of essays and other genres of writing (including documents geared toward professionalization, such as e-mails or cover letters), and participate in different real-life situations to improve their spoken skills. Engaging with texts and visual culture across different genres, students will learn new vocabulary as well as learn about the art, culture, and literature from the Spanish-speaking world. By the end of the semester students will master advanced Spanish grammar, syntax, and techniques of composition in order to produce –without the need of generative AI– good writing in Spanish.
