Texts and films to include Barthes' Camera Lucida , essays by Benjamin, Kracauer, and Krauss, Cortazar’s "Blow-Up," Antonioni's Blow-Up , Fitzgerald's Tender is the Night , Sebald's The Emigrants , West's The Day of the Locust , Frampton's Nostalgia , Egoyan's Calendar , Rancière's The Future of the Image , and poetry by Rich, Ashbery, and Larkin. Not open to first-year students and sophomores. Open to English concentrators only.
