This course examines influential autobiographies and other non-fictional literary works about the meaning of race in America across the 20th century. Writers we examine may include W.E.B. DuBois, Sui Sin Far, Maxine Hong Kingston, N. Scott Momaday, Richard Rodriguez, Maxine Hong Kingston, Richard Rodriguez, and Malcom X. Enrollment limited to 20 juniors and seniors.
