Physics of the Earth with emphasis on fundamental physical principles and mathematical tools. Topics include application of: conductive and convective heat transfer to cooling of the Earth; potential theory to interpretation of gravity anomalies; solid mechanics to deformation of Earth's lithosphere; fluid mechanics to flow in the Earth's interior and in porous media.
