Face of the Earth

Catalog description

This course covers the fundamental processes that have created and sculpted the Earth's surface, from the highest mountains to the deepest oceans; from the hottest deserts, to the coldest glaciers. These processes include plate tectonics, volcanism, earthquakes, glaciation and erosion. The goals are to provide an understanding of how our planet works and provide experience in interpreting geologic information. This will provide student with a deeper understanding of important issues such as climate change, pollution, natural resources, land use, and geologic hazards. For nonscience concentrators.
