Accelerated Introduction to Computer Science

Catalog description

A one-semester introduction to CS, similar to the two-course introductory sequences ( CSCI 0150 - 0200 and CSCI 0170 - 0200 ). All interested students, irrespective of background, must pass online placement assignments during the summer. Though placement is most appropriate for students with some prior programming experience, it is self-contained so all are welcome to try learning the provided material and attempting placement. Information will be available by June 1st at https://cs.brown.edu/courses/csci0190/. Please do not request override codes. Override requests made through CAB will be ignored. The only way to get into the class is through placement. Students who do not successfully pass the placement process won't be allowed to register. Students who do pass will be sent registration instructions by course staff; you do not need to contact them (nor make requests through CAB).
