This seminar, open to upperclassmen with experience in Roman history, will analyze the causes, impact, and results of social conflicts in the early (the "struggle of the orders") and late Roman Republic (Tiberius Gracchus, the Catilinarian Conspiracy), and the latters' contribution to the demise of the Republic.
