Catalog description
Independent research in chemistry mentored by a faculty member. The student will carry out original research in chemistry or chemical education. Students should consult with their faculty mentor to discuss the selection of a research project and setting objectives for the semester. Students in this independent undergraduate research course will be expected to work on several scaffolded writing assignments throughout the semester. Students will receive feedback on their writing that they can incorporate into a revised version of the assignment or a future submission. Students who will not be engaged in this level of scientific writing should enroll in the traditional undergraduate research course, CHEM 0980 . This course may be repeated for credit.
