Putting Research Into Practice with Implementation Science

Catalog description

The objective of this course is for students to learn the principles of implementation science to ensure the successful translation of evidence-based research into practice. Building on the foundation of PHP 2074 : “Needs Analysis and Program Planning,” this course will teach students how to assess the results of interventions and address systematically identified impediments to sustainability and scalability. Students will also learn to use systems thinking tools and frameworks to determine the factors that promote or impede the adoption and sustainability of health-related interventions. This is a required AMPH course. This course is open to PhD students and residential two-year MPH program students. For two-year MPH students, PHP 2355 and PHP 2072 are the pre-requisite courses. Doctoral students will only be admitted with permission of the instructor.
