Catalog description

Quantitative dynamic models help understand problems in biology and there has been rapid progress in recent years. This course provides an introduction to the concepts and techniques, with applications to population dynamics, infectious diseases, enzyme kinetics, and cellular biology. Additional topics covered will vary. Mathematical techniques will be discussed as they arise in the context of biological problems. Prerequisites: Multivariable calculus; Linear algebra; APMA 0355 or equivalent.
