Catalog description
Examining the imaginative act of writing, the course studies the fictional portrayal of historical subjects, facts, and events. Focuses on how non-fiction is fictionally processed in contemporary Latina and Latino novels. How do "Latino" facts--molded by struggles for civil and human rights and U.S. foreign intervention--speak? How does novelist orient readers toward an understanding of social reality? Enrollment limited to 20 juniors and seniors.
