MATH PREP FOR PLACEMENT

Catalog description

This course is designed for students who need math tutoring to help strengthen foundational math skills in preparation for the college's math placement exam. Through guided instruction, targeted practice, and the use of technology-based learning tools, students will identify individual skill gaps and work toward mastery at their own pace. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, improving mathematical reasoning, and developing effective study and test-taking strategies. At the end of the course, students will complete the ALEKS math placement exam to determine the most appropriate next course for their academic pathway. This course is designed for students who have placed below college-level in mathematics, and it does not count toward degree requirements.
