Intermediate English Writing Skills

Catalog description

This course is designed to review the patterns of English sentences, develop paragraph writing, and begin basic essay writing in preparation for ESL 124. As part of the final evaluation students must demonstrate their readiness for ESL 124 through an in-class writing sample. A student who completes ESL 014 must complete ESL 124 before registering for ESL126, ENG 091, ENG 092 or ENG 101. ESL 014 does not count toward a degree. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor or a minimum ESL writing test score of 2-3. Grade points earned in this course will be included permanently in the student's SPI. Three lecture hours per week. Instructional Support Fee applies.
