Catalog description
This course introduces students to Linux operating systems used in server and desktop environments. Students install, configure, and manage Linux systems using command-line and graphical tools. Emphasis is placed on user and group administration, file-system management, networking, and system security. Hands-on virtual labs provide experience in real-world administration and preparation for the CompTIA Linux+ certification.Pre or corequisite: CIS 121 or permission of the instructor. Two lecture hours and two lab hours per week. An instructional support fee applies. General competencies met: Information Literacy. 3 Credits. Spring.
