Part I of a welding engineering series, this course aims to broaden students' understanding of the science of welding and establish a strong foundation in welding engineering principles crucial for success. Topics covered include optimizing welding arcs for productivity and efficiency, advanced welding and cutting processes, discontinuities, welding equipment, and peripherals. This course will concentrate on Gas Metal Arc Welding-Spray (GMAW-Spray), Gas Metal Arc Welding-Pulse (GMAW-P), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Friction Welding (FW), Stud Welding (SW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW), and Resistance Welding (RW) processes.
