Sociological Explorations

Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the sociology major and provide them professional preparation for continuing in scholarship development and their respective sociology careers. Topics will include: recognizing marketable sociology skills and how they be used to help others, research, career opportunities, graduate school, CVs, senior thesis and internships, and the sociological perspective. Emphasis will be placed on the evaluation of social science research, including methods, logic, synthesizing findings, application, and sociological writing. No mathematical or statistical background is required.
