This required course in Therapeutic Recreation offers students practical exposure to a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, aiming to develop clinical skills and competencies essential for planning and implementing programs for individuals with disabilities. Through active application of skills within the Therapeutic Recreation process across varied settings, students will gain hands-on experience. The course is designed to be a cornerstone for students with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of programming dynamics. Note: The incorporation of substantial group work fosters collaborative learning, reflecting the interactive nature of the therapeutic recreation profession. Furthermore, periodic in-person meetings with the instructor ensure meaningful engagement in face-to-face, virtual, and online modalities.
