Catalog description

This introductory course utilizes multiple outdoor cooking techniques and offers an opportunity for students to appreciate the beautiful outdoor surroundings of Eastern Idaho. Students will learn safe and sanitary practices. Students will utilize and create multiple types of cooking equipment. Working together in groups and individually, students will menu plan, prepare food, and participate in an overnight camp trip. To be an effective outdoor cook, working in a team is vital. Extensive group work is required in this course. This class is held outdoors no matter the weather conditions; you are required to provide your own personal camping gear and clothing attire for this course.
