Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the basic tasks of emergency preparedness and disaster mitigation, including planning, response, and recovery issues related to public safety. It identifies emergency management relevance in private industry, federal, state, and local governments. It also introduces the fundamentals of disaster psychology, crisis communication, disaster response and recovery, principles of humanitarian relief, and homeland security. Provides broad awareness about opportunities in both the public and private sectors of emergency management.
