Catalog description

Adult Health introduces students to the care of patients with chronic medical-surgical conditions related to cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, reproductive, muscular skeletal, sensory, and endocrine problems. This course prepares students to develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based care, using the nursing process, for adults with simple to intermediate needs that can be met in acute and long-term care settings or in the home environment. Related health promotion interventions are also be addressed. Principles of aging and care of the older adult (geriatrics) will be emphasized.
