Catalog description

Within this course, orchestral instruments are discussed and demonstrated. Students will discuss and practice writing techniques to score excerpts for each of the families of instruments. These projects are performed and discussed in class. A final project of scoring for a symphony concludes the semester. Proficiency in using music notation software (such as Dorico) is required.
