Jazz Combo

Catalog description

Combo participation provides participants with opportunities for solo improvisation, style application, and a link to the jazz heritage beyond any other jazz ensemble. The Jazz Combo enrollment includes 3-4 chamber groups that meet weekly for rehearsal, once with a coach and twice without. Participants complete an audition process and are placed into combos according to ability. Combos perform twice each semester in a joint concert with additional performance opportunities provided. Auditing may be allowed with instructor approval.
