Catalog description

This course addresses 19th-century practices such as mode mixture, Neapolitan and augmented sixth chords, enharmonic spellings and modulations to foreign keys, harmonic language of the late 19th century, formal structures (binary, ternary, fugue, rondo, sonata), and theoretical concepts that aid the student in the understanding of music. Students will continue to refine the ability to use solfege syllables and hand signs as well as critical listening skills.
