Catalog description

This course is a basic introduction to manufacturing processes. Topics include: measuring tools, basic material science, mass reduction processes (milling, turning, drilling, etc.), separating and deforming processes (cutting, shearing, bending, etc.), mass conserving processes (casting and polymer/composite processes), joining processes (thermal, mechanical, and chemical), finishing processes, and emerging technologies in manufacturing.
