Catalog description
This course applies mathematical concepts from linear algebra and ordinary differential equations to the modeling and control of dynamic systems. It focuses on AC electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and mechatronic systems. Students will learn to model linear and nonlinear dynamic systems, process data using filtering and estimation techniques, and design basic feedback controllers. The course also introduces MATLAB and Simulink for simulating and solving dynamic system problems. A culminating project requires students to analyze, control, or design a dynamic mechatronic system.
