Catalog description

This course identifies third-party reimbursement and payment methodologies, including, but not limited to, differentiating between Medicare and Medicaid, managed care, and self-insuring. Students will analyze the business office functions that facilitate a healthcare organization to maximize reimbursement and to negotiate and administrate contracts with healthcare insurance companies. It prepares students to purchase healthcare insurance for their families and employees, as well as to critically assess current healthcare insurance issues and legislation.
