GS 103M
Critical Thinking & Test-Taking
Brigham Young University-Idaho · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This six-week, online, 1.0 credit course is taught on the block (six weeks) so that students can quickly apply the strategies learned to their studies. Students can expect the course to require approximately 4-5 hours of their time per week. In this course, students will not only learn critical thinking and test-taking strategies but will also be given assignments to apply what they are learning to their other classes. Like any skill learned, without application, there will likely be little retention or change. The activities of the course are not intended as "busywork" but as an opportunity to implement what they learn and to evaluate what strategies will work best for them. The skills that students learn in this course can bless them as a student, as well as in their professional and personal life as they learn to think critically and prepare effectively for the exams of life.
