Catalog description
This course is a comprehensive study of scientific evidence documenting the relationship between aerobic exercise in healthy and chronic disease populations. Emphasis is placed on the physiological principles underlying the role of aerobic exercise in health maintenance, disease prevention, and its utilization in the treatment of various diseases. This focus can be applied to clinical and non-clinical settings and includes aerobic fitness testing, ECG monitoring, assessment, and programming for healthy populations and in chronic disease populations. This course will further prepare students to take the ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist exam.
