Catalog description

This course teaches students how nutrition, fitness, lifestyle behaviors, and other factors impact disease processes, performance, quality of life, goal achievement, and weight management efforts. Students will demonstrate competence in their skills to administer selected health and fitness assessment protocols and properly interpret the result. They will design effective and appropriate nutrition, fitness, and weight management intervention programs and strategies for an individual client. They will recognize and present their perceived strengths and weaknesses in the area of mentor-client interaction and group teamwork toward program implementation and serve the campus community by administering the assessment protocols and designing intervention programs through the university's Wellness Center.
