Catalog description
This is the first in a series of courses, based on the science of reading, to prepare future teachers to successfully guide children to acquire early literacy skills. This course equips learners with professional-level knowledge of linguistic and neurological literacy development by focusing on the Word Recognition category of Scarborough's Reading Rope. Students learn structured literacy instructional practices to support the literacy development of all learners, including English Learners and those with reading disabilities, such as dyslexia.
