Catalog description

This course covers effective assessment and intervention principles and practices for a wide variety of students, including those with dyslexia and other reading disabilities. Students will learn how to identify, develop, administer, and interpret various literacy assessments. Students will also learn how to design and implement evidence-based literacy interventions based on assessment data, including explicit, systematic, and multimodal instruction of word identification, decoding, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary strategies. Students will explore the methods and routines of comprehensive literacy intervention programs for multiple levels of literacy acquisition in children (K-12) and adults.
