Curriculum for Preschool

Catalog description
The principles and practices involved in evaluating, planning, and delivering developmentally appropriate, evidence-based curriculum for children in preschool, both with and without disabilities, are studied. The developmental and academic standards (e.g., Early Learning Guidelines, Common Core, etc.) related to curriculum will be introduced. Lesson/activity planning skills will be taught and fostered. Domain specific content will be reviewed for the developmental (e.g., cognitive, communication, social/emotional, motor, and adaptive behavior) and preschool curricular domains (e.g., literacy, language, affective, Cognitive (including math and science), aesthetics (including music and art), and physical). The course will address licensing standards including CPR, First Aid, and background checks.
