Catalog description
This course will help the student understand topics related to power system operation and control, power system economics, power quality, and power system reliability. Topics include methods employed to analyze and protect against symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults, evaluate transient event stability, evaluate power flow, and long-distance power transmission modeling. Lab activities provide a hands-on learning experience related to the topics covered in the course.
