Catalog description
This course is a prerequisite for Chinese 102 and Chinese minor. It may also meet the requirements of other minors and clusters (check with your home program or department) and the needs of students with other interests, such as preparation to teach English in China or acquisition of a feeling about Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture. This course assumes that students have NO training in Mandarin Chinese. The emphasis is, therefore, on developing the basic communicative skills.
