BUS 297R
Project-Based Internship
Brigham Young University-Idaho · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The Project-Based Internship (PBI) program provides students with an internship-like experience by working in teams of four to six on real-world projects for client organizations. Projects span a wide range of industries and are applicable to all majors. Interns must meet weekly with their team and client at scheduled times. Students are expected to dedicate 8 to 10 hours per week throughout the semester, totaling a minimum of 100 hours. While PBI projects are completed remotely rather than at the client's office, the experience closely mirrors a part-time business internship. The program begins with training sessions or recordings during the first three weeks. Project assignments are based on student interests, skills, and availability. This course is available to both online and on-campus students. If you register for BUS 297R, it may or may not fulfill the basic internship requirement for your major.
