Catalog description

This course provides a basic understanding of soils and their importance in crop and food production. It examines the formation of soils and their physical, chemical, and biological properties. The course will demonstrate diagnosing and correcting plant nutrient deficiencies for various crops and rotations. The effect of soil physical, chemical, and biological on agricultural systems will be discussed. Environmental effects such as soil erosion and chemical pollution, and the management/remediation of these problems.
