Catalog description

This course helps students learn about accounting information systems by providing them opportunities to design and develop accounting information systems using the Event-Based Accounting technique, focusing on the Revenue cycle, Purchase cycle, Payroll cycle, and Production cycle. This approach is designed to help students understand the purpose of accounting information systems, their strengths and weaknesses, how they are constructed, what and how data is captured and stored, and how information to facilitate decision making is retrieved. In addition, students will learn internal control concepts related to accounting information systems. They will also learn how to use audit software to perform a variety of auditing procedures to identify errors and irregularities. They will also learn how to use data analytics software to identify errors and irregularities and make management recommendations.
