Catalog description

This rigorous course builds upon principles learned in Accounting 210 and 211. Topics covered include financial accounting standards and the conceptual framework for financial reporting, the accounting cycle, recording of specific transactions for revenues, cash, receivables, and inventory, financial statement measurement and reporting, presentation of financial statements, financial statement disclosures, and time value of money concepts. The course is intended to provide students with some of the core skills needed to work in either public or private accounting or to pursue graduate education. Students will also become familiar with accounting research techniques and how to apply accounting principles to case studies.
