University of Bridgeport · 4.0 credits · UGRD

This course is designed to give students practical experience applying their knowledge of psychology and psychology related principles to actual workplace settings. Professional settings must be approved in advance by the Professor and may include businesses, healthcare, recreational, social service, or educational organizations at the local, state, federal, or international levels. During the experience, students receive regular feedback from a qualified supervisor, generally holding a degree beyond the Bachelors level and from experienced staff members within the organization. Students also engage in career development activities during the course including refining their resume, taking interest inventories, documenting hours and activities and requesting a formal letter of recommendation from a supervisor. Reflective writing assignments help students to relate their own practical experience to their growing knowledge base in psychology.
