Provides practical experience in the performance of various technical skills frequently encountered in the clinical setting. Skills are taught with an opportunity for hands-on learning in the laboratory setting. Specifically, students will learn intravenous line insertion, injections, bladder catheterization, splinting, incision and drainage, lumbar puncture, intubation, central line placement, and suturing. The course provides students with an overview of common procedural skills and their indications, limitations, benefits and possible complications of procedures. 2 credits
