Catalog description

This course is designed to review the fundamentals of classical thermodynamics and apply them to the analysis and design optimization of power and refrigeration energy systems incorporating heat exchangers and combustion processes. The topics include; principles of thermal energy conversion; properties of mixtures; entropy; exergy; applications of the principles of thermodynamics to components and systems, including pumps, compressors, engines, turbines, power plants, renewable energy systems; power and refrigeration cycles.
