Through close readings of a variety of passages from literature, history, philosophy, and contemporary culture, we will move beyond a basic understanding of rules and gain appreciation of language’s structure and beauty. This course is intended for anyone who is interested in understanding English, but particularly for those intending to teach English at the secondary level.
