Catalog description

Instructional Strategies for Teaching Decimals and  Fractions to Elementary Students.  This course will focus on instructional strategies  to effectively teach fractions and decimals to students in Grades 3-5.  There will be an emphasis on utilizing the  Concrete-Representational-Abstract (C-R-A) approach to instruction and how it aligns to the Connecticut Core Standards and the Standards for  Mathematical Practice.  Time will also be spent  the Three-Part Problem Solving Plan used in rigorous real-world problems.
