Catalog description

This course focuses on a new emerging topic - Autonomous Vehicles with the application of Machine learning and Computer Vision Techniques. The course includes a background review to put all students to an equivalent level, and seminars that can cover the state-of-the-art techniques in these fields. This implies coursework includes readings, presentations, and discussion of technical papers taken from the currently available  literature. Seminar-style requires active student participation by presentation and discussion. The course syllabus will intentionally adapt to the interests and backgrounds of the students. This course will focus on all research areas contributing to the autonomous vehicles field including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, sensor fusion, and embedded systems. Class lectures will be a combination of basic topics materials and presentations of papers from the current literature on artificial intelligence and its applications to autonomous vehicles. Students will submit a project that solves one of the problems presented in the lectures and show how this can be contributed to the autonomous vehicles field.
