Catalog description

Advanced group instruction in music composition. Through guided creative work, students develop their expression through sound. DAWs, aesthetics, analysis, harmony, counterpoint, orchestration, aural skills, keyboard skills, score study, and musicianship are directly brought into the course as they pertain to the students' creative work and development of their unique expression of musical creation. This course will place students in a collaborative position to compose music and sound design for projects emerging from the Department of Interactive Media. May be repeated up to a maximum of 12 credit hours.
