Introduction to the modern development of computing and artificial intelligence and their transformative impacts on social science research methods and practices. The course situates technological developments within broader contexts of ongoing global change, power structures, social inequality, as well as ethical and environmental considerations. Students will explore how new technologies have reshaped data collection, analysis, interpretation, and professional standards across disciplines. Through interdisciplinary readings, case studies, and hands-on research projects, students will develop practical skills for evaluating and employing digital tools.
